Functional Medicine for Chronic Fatigue in Dallas, Texas

"I Used to Have Energy." It's What Our Patients Tell Us Most. We Know How to Help.

Play the video: Understanding Chronic Fatigue, with Dr. Luke Arnett

Chronic exhaustion isn't laziness. It isn't weakness. It's the body signaling that something is off, and functional medicine is built to find out exactly what.

What Most of Our Patients Tell Us

  • They wake up tired after a full night of sleep.
  • By noon they're running on fumes. By two in the afternoon they're counting the hours until they can sit down.
  • They close the office door so nobody sees them struggling. They turn down plans with friends because there's nothing left.
  • Their kids ask them to come play, and they say maybe later. And later never comes.
  • They've been to the doctor. The tests came back normal. They were told to sleep more, stress less, build better habits. Some tell us they wanted to scream.
  • Because they knew it wasn't normal. And after being told so many times they were fine, many started to wonder if it was all in their head.

It's not in their head.

There's usually a reason behind it. And it can be found.

Here's What's Actually Happening…
And Why It's Easy to Miss

Standard bloodwork is designed to catch disease. It isn't designed to catch the things that quietly drain energy long before disease shows up.

Chronic fatigue is rarely just one thing. It's often a combination: a thyroid that's underperforming but still reads "normal," hormones that have drifted out of balance, stress hormones stuck in overdrive, nutrient deficiencies, blood sugar swings, inflammation, or a gut that isn't absorbing nutrients well.

Any one of these can wear a person down. Together, they can leave the body running on empty no matter how much rest it gets.

Our focus isn't masking the tiredness. It's finding what's causing it.

Most Clinics Guess. We Test.

Most clinics start with a standard panel and a symptom checklist. If the results come back "normal," that's usually where the conversation ends. Patients tell us they went home just as tired as they came in.

We do it the other way around. We test first, then build a plan around what the results actually show. No guessing. No generic protocol. Just answers.

What Happens When You Come In?

  1. Step #1

The first visit starts with a conversation, not a clipboard.

We want to understand the full picture. How long it's been going on. What the days actually look like. What's already been tried.

  2. Step #2

We test, so we don't have to guess.

We look at every system that drives energy, not just one:

    • Advanced Lab Work

We draw blood and run the labs most doctors never order, looking at hormones, thyroid, nutrients, inflammation, and more.

    • Respiratory System Testing

Checks how well the body takes in and uses oxygen, the fuel cells need to make energy.

    • Nervous System Assessment

Measures how the body is handling stress and whether it's stuck in survival mode, burning through energy it can't spare.

    • Brain Function Scanning

A direct look at how the brain is performing, because physical and mental fatigue often travel together.

Much of this testing may be covered by insurance. Give us a call and we'll check your coverage with you right there on the phone.

  3. Step #3

We walk through the results together.

No jargon, no rushing. We show you what we found and explain what's behind it. For a lot of patients, that moment alone is a relief.

  4. Step #4

We build a plan around the results.

Once we know the cause, we build the plan around it. That may include:

    • Hormone Balancing

Correcting imbalances that can drain energy, disrupt sleep, and affect thinking.

    • IV Therapy

Vitamins, minerals, and amino acids delivered straight to the bloodstream, bypassing a stressed gut.

    • Peptide Therapy

Targeted peptides that support the body's natural recovery and repair.

    • Structural Integration

Realigning the body to take pressure off the nervous system so it can regulate properly.

    • Massage Therapy

Releasing soft tissue tension that keeps the body locked in stress mode.

Every treatment is chosen because the test results point to it, not because it's on a menu.

  5. Step #5

We stay with you along the way.

We track progress, retest when it matters, and adjust as the body responds. Real change takes time, and every person responds differently.

Chronic Fatigue: Common Questions, Answered

Why do some people stay tired even after a full night's sleep?

When rest doesn't fix it, the problem usually isn't rest. Persistent exhaustion is often driven by something underneath, like an underperforming thyroid, hormones out of balance, nutrient deficiencies, blood sugar swings, or inflammation. Testing is how we find out which ones are involved.

Why can labs come back normal when the exhaustion is still there?

Standard bloodwork is built to catch disease, not the imbalances that drain energy long before disease shows up. A result can fall inside the "normal" range and still be far from where the body works best. We run deeper labs and look at the whole picture.

What tests do you run for chronic fatigue?

We start with advanced lab work, then look at the respiratory system, the nervous system, and brain function. Together, they show us how the body is producing energy, and where it's losing it.

Can hormones or thyroid problems cause chronic fatigue?

Yes. Hormone and thyroid imbalances are among the most common drivers of ongoing fatigue, and they're often missed when only a basic panel is run.

How long does it take to see a change?

It varies from person to person. Because we focus on the underlying cause rather than masking symptoms, real change takes time.

Is the testing covered by insurance?

Much of this testing may be covered by insurance. Give us a call and we'll check your coverage with you right there on the phone.

What happens after I request an appointment?

Someone from our team texts you right away, then calls to confirm your time and verify your insurance.
